Qatar women’s handball team beat Jordan 22-19 to win the title at the inaugural West Asian Women’s Handball Championship 2016 in Doha on Monday.
At the victory ceremony, Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) vice president Sheikh Saud bin Ali al-Thani and Asian Handball Federation (AHF) executive director Dr Ahmed Abu-Alail crowned the Qatari side in a glittering ceremony.
Qatar Women Sport Committee (QWSC) chairperson Ahlam al-Mane and Qatar Handball Association (QHA) secretary general Mohamed Jaber al-Mulla crowned the runner-up team.
The event was organised by the Qatar Women Sport Committee in collaboration with the Qatar Handball Association under the supervision of Asian Handball Federation.
