The first round of negotiations for a comprehensive aviation agreement between the Civil Aviation Authority of Qatar and the European Union concluded yesterday.
The negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement to regulate aviation services and the rights of air transport between Qatar and EU member states.
The Qatari side was chaired by HE the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Abdulla bin Nasser Turki al-Subaey and was attended by CEO of Qatar Airways Group Akbar al-Baker.
From the European side, it was attended by head of the international transport affairs of the European Commission, Carlos Acosta.
During the meetings hosted by Doha over the past three days, the two sides reviewed the provisions of the proposed comprehensive agreement and also discussed them in detail to reach a common understanding.
They agreed on the need to complete the negotiations in the subsequent phases of the negotiations to finalise the comprehensive air services agreement between Qatar and the European Union.
