Al Ahli Hospital has launched a medical programme Maa Al Hakim to be telecast from the hospital on Al Jazeera Mubasher satellite channel every Wednesday from 7pm to 8pm for one year.
The programme will be re-telecast every Thursday at 11am and every Sunday at 11pm.
Khalid Mohamed al-Emadi, CEO, Medicare Group, and Al Ahli Hospital, said that the programme aims at enhancing public awareness about various health issue in a practical and interactive manner, where the doctors of the hospital will address certain topics of interest and respond to inquiries and comments of viewers live on air.
“We have a group of highly professional physicians and surgeons from different parts of the world. Also, the hospital is known for its high quality services, so the programme would be very special and give viewers valuable information in the field,” al-Emadi added.
The programme will include videos of surgeries with comments and explanations, interviews with specialised doctors on the related topics while answering the questions of viewers on air, and various health topics that will be dealt with in detail.
Jamal Saleh Hammad, deputy CEO and director of projects, MediCare and Al Ahli Hospital, said, “What is special about the programme is that it would follow up the case of a patient since he or she started treatment at the hospital until getting well. The experience of the patient would be showcased in co-operation with the doctors
concerned.”
“The necessary pre-approvals of the patients concerned, would be obtained before airing anything,” an official of the hospital said.
