The fourth edition of the Traffic Department’s online auction for fancy plate numbers concluded on Thursday after recording a total revenue of QR14.576mn.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday said that the auction conducted through the Ministry of Interior’s Metrash2 service, launched last Tuesday, put on sale 25 plate numbers.
The number 322222 saw the highest competition among bidders and amounted in value to QR1.524mn, followed by 311113 amounting to QR1.344mn, and 366666 which sold for QR1.342mn. The lowest price at the auction, QR220,000 went for the number 323222.
According to the terms and conditions set forth by the Traffic Department, each bidder had to pay a security deposit of QR20,000 to participate in the auction.
The minimum bid was QR100,000.
