Wakrah, Kharaitiyat look to bounce back from losing starts

Al Wakrah goes up against Al Kharaitiyat in round two of the QSL today at the Al Wakrah Stadium. Both the teams are reeling from losses in their opening game of the season and will be eager to make amends.
Al Wakrah fought a close a match against El Jaish but ended up losing 2-1. They will try to fix their mistakes and put up a stronger performance in their second match.
Al Wakrah head coach Mauricio Larriera wants his team to learn from the mistakes made in the last game. “We lost but we did well. There are some things we need to concentrate on but we know that El Jaish are a very competitive team, one of the best in the league,” Larriera said.
“Kharaitiyat is a competitive team and unfortunately they lost towards the end of the game. They lost against one of the biggest team in the league in Al Sadd. We don’t know how they are preparing for us but we saw that that they tried against Al Sadd but couldn’t succeed,” added the Uruguayan head coach at a press conference on Thursday.
Talking about the young Qatari midfielder Ahmed Fadal, Larriera said, “He is one of the most important players. He knows what the coach wants and what he can do to help. Last season he played a lot with the national team and I wanted to play him in the team. This season he started on the bench but that’s no indication of whether he will play or not. I have to wait for the right time to play him.”
Kharaitiyat had a disappointing outing against Al Sadd as they slumped to a 4-0 defeat. They need to get their momentum started and they will have an opportunity to do so today.
Amar Osim, the head coach of Kharaitiyat, said that they need to bounce back from their defeat. “We have to prepare because we lost 4-0 and it’s not easy for the players to digest this. We shouldn’t think too much about this defeat and we have to learn from this game.”
The Bosnian tactician added: “Al Wakrah is a good team and strong. They changed couple of players and I expect a tough game against them.”
