Mall of Qatar will generate about 8,000 new jobs nationwide once the facility is operational in the last quarter of this year, it was announced.
With a total area of over 500,000 sq m, when fully operational the sprawling complex will have over 500 shops including over 100 restaurants — in the fit-out stage—each of which is expected to produce a number of employment opportunities spanning areas such as sales, management, operations and marketing.
“Mall of Qatar has been carefully designed to immerse visitors in a superior, unparalleled, and multi-sensory experience—one that perfectly blends the best in shopping, dining, and entertainment,” said CEO Ahmad al-Mulla.
"Our project will not only redefine the traditional concept of a shopping centre, but also help create around 8,000 new job opportunities and thus serve as a springboard for Qatar’s economic growth.”
Mall of Qatar offers innovative shopping concepts with top-notch recreation and leisure options. This capital destination will premiere the world’s first resident troupe – offering mall-wide entertainment with 52 weeks of spectacular headline shows on a 360-degree custom developed revolving stage, as well as a multilevel Family Entertainment Complex integrating an international edutainment concept, advanced gaming machines and enthralling rides.
The Mall’s encompassing experience completes with a 19-screen Cineplex inclusive of IMAX’s revolutionary laser projection and 12 channel immersive sound system on the region’s largest screen. The cinema will also feature the latest 4D projection technology screen, seven VIP screens, an 8-lane bowling alley, and in-theatre gourmet food services.
