OIC condemns Aleppo bombing

QNA/Jeddah

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani has vigorously condemned the unrelenting bombing of civilians in Aleppo, Syria. He just as strongly denounced the shelling of humanitarian aid convoys, causing the death and injury of hundreds of civilians, and exacerbating the desperate humanitarian situation and widespread havoc in the city.
According to OIC website, Madani called on the international community, particularly the parties that pledged to impose an end to the bloodshed in Syria and consolidate the humanitarian cease-fire, to promptly step in to put an end to the ongoing killings and massacres in residential areas. He pointed out that the relentless pounding, slaughter, and destruction of humanitarian aid convoys amount to war crimes for which the Syrian regime should be held accountable. The parties supporting the Syrian regime take responsibility for the continuation of these serious violations, he underscored.

I hope Esperanto won’t be forgotten on the European Day of Languages. I would like to argue the case for wider use of Esperanto, a planned language which belongs to no one country or group of states. Esperanto works! I’ve used it in speech and writing in about fifteen countries over recent years. I recommend it to any traveller, as a way of making friendly local contacts. Over 500,000 people have signed on for the new Duolingo Esperanto course in the last six year. It’s fun and it’s free.
