Two lanes of Duhail Street reopened

Two lanes of Duhail Street between Jeryan Nejaima Junction and Al Shamal Road have been opened for traffic.

Duhail Street was closed for works that included adding a third lane.
The third lane, which is almost ready, will be open for traffic after infrastructure works in the area are completed.
The opposite direction of the street from Shamal Road to Jeryan Nejaima is expected to be opened in mid-December.

A stretch of the service road at the intersection between Duhail Street and Al Shefallahiya Street was closed for traffic from Monday while the access to the entrance of houses and local roads was open.
The entrance to Duhail Street from Al Shamal Road has also been closed (as shown in the map).
The closure will be in place until mid-December.
Traffic through a section of the Arab League Street resumed last July.
The street forms the main part of road works surrounding Lekhwiya Camp in the Area 30 of the Duhail project.
The project includes development of roads surrounding the Duhail Camp from three directions (North, East, and South) to facilitate traffic movement in the area.
It involves constructing and developing five intersections, and service roads and parking areas.
The project also includes the construction of a surface water drainage system (for storm water), micro-tunneling for drainage networks, roads, pavements, and provision of utility infrastructure for electricity and communications as well as an intelligent transport system.
