CMC discusses partitioning of villas, houses

The Central Municipal Council (CMC) resumed regular sessions on Tuesday after the summer vacation.
The council reviewed correspondence and responses from various government entities.

There were positive responses from the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) over works at some intersections at Al Jazeera Al Arabia Street and Ahmed bin Ali Street.
The council also discussed the issue of partitioning of residential villas and houses without proper authorisation from the municipality. The topic was raised by CMC chairman Mohamed Hammoud al-Shafi.
The issue has been addressed by the council several times before and even by previous rounds of the council but has not been resolved.
CMC members agreed that the issue should be referred to CMC Services and Utilities Committee for further discussion, review of previous CMC recommendations and devise solutions based on the recent updates.
Al-Shafi commended the members on their efforts and conveyed the appreciation of government officials for their hard work.
