Ooredoo has announced a new update to its Ooredoo App that will allow any Hala or Shahry user in Qatar to access the service.
Previously, customers with a smartphone would have to register to use the service, and only the Qatar ID holder could take advantage of the numerous self-services via the app.
With the latest update, everyone in Qatar with a Hala or Shahry number can log into the Ooredoo App to check their balance or allowance, top up their account or subscribe to a number of add-ons.
All Hala purchases will be deducted from the user’s credit immediately, while Shahry customers will have the amount added to their monthly bill.
Customers can access their account by clicking the ‘My Number’ tab on the apps homescreen, enter their mobile number, and then the verification code that will be sent via SMS.
For business customers, the new feature will enable employees to access their accounts quickly and easily.
All Hala Business number holders will be able to see their balance, as well as subscribe to a number of add-ons up to the value of their Hala credit balance.
Shahry Business account holders will be able to see their remaining balance, and can request subscriptions to a host of services such as monthly data packs via their account manager.
The new feature was designed to ensure every Ooredoo customer with an iOS or Android phone can enjoy the benefits of the Ooredoo App.
Ooredoo App users logged in via the My Number tab can also take advantage of the new passport companion feature, which enables customers to instantly see their remaining passport balance, view the standard roaming rates for calling and messaging in the country they are visiting, as well as the networks that are compatible with the Ooredoo Passport.
