Ezdan Holding Group wins ‘International Achievement Award 2016’

Ezdan Holding Group has won the ‘International Achievement Award 2016’ by Arabian Business magazine in recognition of its recent achievements at the international level.
The award was received by the Group CEO Ali Mohamed al-Obaidli in the presence of a panel of senior officials, businessmen, and entrepreneurs in Qatar and abroad in a ceremony held at the Westin Hotel Doha.
Ezdan Holding Group was chosen from among several companies for its series of achievements such as the almost double oversubscription in its inaugural $500mn Islamic sukuk in record time, the opening of the first phase of Ezdan Mall Al Wukair, and the ongoing preparations for launching the three other major projects.
Al-Obaidli said: “Winning this award recognises the achievements made by the Group. Experience has shown that the vision of the Group and the strategy it pursued for years have been translated into various actions and plans, which contributed to the development of the Group and placed it on the right track in the world of investment, supporting the national economy.”
Al-Obaidli pointed out that Ezdan has achieved “dazzling progress” in its financial performance, projects, operations, and transactions in different vital sectors in the last three years. The Group was recognised and won a number of awards because of its high profile services and “remarkable” financial indicators.
“We remarkably reached a milestone at the local level after the Group succeeded in its first sukuk deal that was issued in stages. The group has placed 167% oversubscription, which significantly indicates Ezdan’s successful worldwide investor turnout,” al-Obaidli said. He added: “This year, our achievements vary in multiple sectors, mainly the realty sector, which accounts for the largest share of the Group’s investments, as we provide more than 20,000 housing units, serving different segments in Qatar.
We disclosed in the second quarter of 2016 the ‘Ezdan Oasis project’, a mega real estate project that will target more than 35,000 people, and provides more than 9,000 multi-purpose units in different areas of Al Wukair once completed.
“We have expressed our commitment to launch the project gradually as we are working hard to launch the first phase over the next year and will include about 2,000 housing units.
Through this project, we aim to promote the urban development boom in Al Wakrah and Al Wukair areas.” On achieving investment integration, al-Obaidli said Ezdan has entered the entertainment and commercial centres sector to establish service projects that meet diverse needs and to achieve integration in public service, providing comfortable housing, pleasing entertainment, and delightful shopping experience.
Ezdan has established three shopping malls, according to the latest international standards to meet the needs of the growing shopping and entertainment community, and to promote urban development throughout Qatar.
“We are all set to invest in all sectors to maximise profitability and to achieve progress and prosperity of our country and society. We are proud of our proactive action to support the urban boom in construction and stimulate Qatar’s economy,” al-Obaidli said.
