QSL stars off for international duty

It’s not only Qatar National team players who will be leaving their respective QSL sides during the international break. Eleven QSL international stars will be joining up with their national sides hoping to aid them in qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
In Asia it’s the third and final qualification round, and four QSL players will be hoping to make the difference for their sides in group A. Fresh from their goal scoring exploits in round 2 of the QSL the South Korean duo of Nam Tae Hee of Lekhwiya and Kooky Han of Al Gharafa have been called up for the Taegeuk Warriors. The South Koreans will take on Qatar in Soul before a tough away match against Iran.
Likewise Al Sadd defender Morteza Pouraliganji has joined up with the Iranian national team ahead of their qualification matches against Uzbekistan and Iran. Team Melli are second in the group standings and will be looking to push on to the top of the table. Uzbekistan are currently topping group A, and will be eager to build on their winning start. Head coach Samvel Babayan has called up El Jaish winger Sardor Rashidov for their matches against Iran and China.
Finally Al Sailiya attacker Faouzi Aaish has been called up by the Bahrain national team for their two friendly matches against the Philippines and Oman, which are due to take place on the 7th and 11th of October.
Over in Africa and qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia is set to kick off with three QSL players set to take part. Al Ahli attacker and DR Congo star Firmin Mubele has been called up by the Leopards for their opening match against Libiya. Mubele will be hoping to build on his early season form with the Brigadeers in the QSL.
In the same qualification group, Lekhwiya midfielder Yusef Msakni is set to be called up for the Tunisian national team. The Eagles of Carthage open up their campaign with a home tie against Guinea on the 9th of October.
Lekhwiya summer signing Yusef El Arabi has been called up by the Moroccan side for their first World Cup qualification match against Gabon, away from home. El Arabi has been in fine form for his new side and has found the back of the net in his first two QSL games.
European qualification for the 2018 World Cup enters its second match day and three QSL players will be representing their countries. Al Gharafa winger Vladimir Weiss has been called up for the Slovakian national team for their games against Slovenia and Scotland.
Likewise team mate and Hungary striker Krisztián Németh has been called up to represent the Mygars, who will be taking on Switzerland and Latvia in group B of World Cup Qualification on the 7th and 10th of October respectively.
Finally Al Sailiya defender Dragos Grigore has been handed the captain’s armband for Romania as they have two tricky away ties against Armenia and Kazakhstan on the 8th and the 11th of October.
The QSL wishes all players representing their national teams luck as they battle for Russia 2018 World Cup qualification.
