Weather expected to be dusty and windy on Friday

Strong winds are expected on Friday along with dusty conditions and low visibility in some places, the Qatar Met department has said.

Offshore areas, too, are likely to experience strong winds along with high seas, according to the weather report.
The Met department also tweeted on Thursday that a decrease in temperature was expected from Friday, with the maximum ranging from 34-39C and the minimum from 24-28C in different parts of the country.
Windy conditions were reported from different places on Thursday, too. For instance, wind speed of 21 knots was recorded in Turayna around afternoon with gusts reaching 28 knots in Abu Samra.
"Please watch out for low visibility due to blowing dust," the Met department advised in a post on Twitter.
On Friday, the wind speed may go up to 25 knots in some inshore areas by the afternoon and 38 knots in some offshore areas at times.
The detailed forecast for inshore areas is hazy in some places at first, followed by a hot day. Slight to blowing dust is expected in some areas by the afternoon, while visibility may drop to 3km or less.
Dusty conditions are also expected in offshore areas at times, with the sea level rising to 15ft in some places.
A maximum temperature of 42C was recorded on Thursday in the Qatar University and Doha airport areas, Al Rayyan, Mesaieed and Turayna, followed by 41C in Sheehaniya and Al Khor. Mesaieed also recorded a minimum temperature of 23C.
The mercury level on Friday is likely to reach a high of 41C in Doha and 39C in Mesaieed and Wakrah.
