Gulf Incon-Metabo Cricket tournament begins

Doha: The 22nd Gulf Incon - Metabo Cricket tournament got off with Force India defeating hosts Metabo by 4 wickets in the opening match at the Qatar Cricket Sports Complex at West Bay.  
After winning the toss, Metabo elected to bat. The hosts scored 158 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Rafaqat made 42 runs off just 18 deliveries (2 sixes and 4fours), while Asif remained unbeaten on 21. For Force India, Ranga took three wickets, while Akalanka picked two.
In reply Force India batsmen started confidently and chased down the total in 16.3 overs. Bari top-scored with 33 runs off 14 balls (one six and 4 fours), while Akalanka made 25 runs. Mohsin and Hanif took two wickets each.
The tournament was inaugurated by Sajjad Ahmed Khan – Senior Sales & Marketing Manager – Tools & Equipment Division in presence of Mr. Vincent Vimla Das Product & Equipment Manager along with members of the Qatar Veterans’ Cricket League.

Al Fardan 166 all out in 20 overs (Hinan 35, 25; Ravikant 3 for 28, Ajay 3 for 11, Mani 2 for 23) lost to Mitra Mandal 170 for 8 in 19.4 overs (Ajay 36, Ravikanth 28, Yashwant 20, Abhijit 20; Hinan 2 for 27, Tanveer, Akram, Frahan and Ghazali 1 wkt each) by 2 wickets
Sarandeep 171 for 10 in 20 overs (Nibrus  56, Darshana; Nasar, Ashwaq, Imran 2 wkts each, shukur and Jawahar took 1 wkt each) lost to Tulukuta 175 for 7 in 20 overs (Shakir 67, Fawaz 27, Anwar 19; Wasantha, Basin took 2 wkts each, Drashana and Nimata 1 wkts each) by 3 wickets.
