A high-level delegation from India’s Gujarat state will visit Qatar next week as part of their ongoing GCC tour.
The ‘Vibrant Gujarat 2017’ delegation will meet various executives of companies, financial institutions, members of industry chambers, government officials among others.
It comprises representatives of some 11 reputable Indian companies from various sectors (including conventional and non-conventional energy; chemicals and petrochemicals; tourism and hospitality; education; infrastructure development; and financial services) in addition to representatives of Government of Gujarat and various Indian Chambers.
The delegation’s visit is aimed at strengthening the economic and social ties between India and the three Arab countries to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017.
With the theme of ‘Gujarat — Connecting India to World’, the meetings will feature various activities involving leading companies, industry associations and government officials, strengthening the cause of development and promote cooperation between Gujarat and Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar.
The delegates will highlight some of the investor-friendly policies, the robust industrial ecosystem and single window clearance procedures that Gujarat offers, making it one of the most sought after investment destinations globally.
The delegation head, Dr Rajiv Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary (Labour & Employment) said, “Our delegation’s objective is to strengthen relationship between the Gulf countries and India. With some important projects lined up, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia’s expertise in areas such as oil & gas, infrastructure, education and tourism to name a few will play a significant role.”
The 8th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit will be held from January 10 to 13 next year at the Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar.
