QOC secretary general inspects UCI World Championships venues

Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary General, Dr Thani al-Kuwari, joined the Local Organising Committee leadership, Dr Mohamed al-Kuwari and Ahmed al-Hemaidi, in a complete site inspection of the finish line area for the UCI Road World Championships, beginning today.
With the first official time trials taking place today and races lasting through till October 16, Dr Thani al-Kuwari was on hand to inspect the key facilities that make up the stadium-like atmosphere near the finish line.
He inspected various venue buildings such as the Fan Zone, the Hospitality Tent, the Mixed Zone, the Press Tents, the Majlis, the TV compound, and other facilities.
“I’m very happy, and my first impression of what is going on is more than excellent. I truly wish great success for this event. Also, the Qatar Olympic Committee is 100% behind the UCI Road World Championships Doha 2016,” Dr al-Kuwari said.
The UCI Road World Championships is a free event to the public, and will offer water taxis and shuttle services to fans who wish to experience one of the most important cycling events of the year.
Qatar is the first country in the Arabian Gulf to ever host the road cycling world championship.
