Customers benefit as Ashghal launches e-services portal

Individuals and businesses could avail of 23 services and download applications from the newly launched e-services portal of Ashghal, it was announced on Sunday.
The e-services portal was launched in line with the recommendations issued by the Qatar E-Government 2020 Strategy Management Office to Ashghal.
The e-services portal comes as part of Ashghal’s initiatives and projects launched during the past two years with an aim to enhance communication and have direct interaction with customers.
It aims to create a comprehensive and efficient experience for customers be it through the round-the-clock call centre or through the Customer Zone Centres at Ashghal headquarters in West Bay and the Wholesale Market Street near Salwa Road.
Those initiatives depend on a new integrated system to manage customers’ relations implemented by the programme team in Ashghal in co-operation with Microsoft.
Ashghal’s customers, whether individuals or businesses, can now access those services through the new portal by registering on Ashghal’s website, if they have not registered before, and move to the Customer Zone Portal or through the portal link, customerzone.ashghal.gov.qa
The new interface has an organised and accurate design that enables customers to easily access the services they need. The services are categorised in the lists based on their nature, including roads, drainage, infrastructure besides complaints, suggestions, inquiries, and notifications lists.
"The application process is easy and fast as it requires only selecting the services and clicking on the application’s icon, filling the required fields of information," Ashghal said in a statement.
In addition, documents can be uploaded and attached with the application to complete the process and submit complete applications electronically.
Roads services include a number of services and permits such as dedicated parking permit, road events permit, scaffolding permit for contractors, road space booking, no-objection certificates, traffic diversion plan, requests for directional signage, street light installation, practical completion certificate, removal/relocation of street light and speed hump application.
Drainage services include a number of services such as permits for grease trap, groundwater dewatering (for contractors), treated sewage effluent (TSE) tankers, tankers (for individuals / compounds), and TSE – new connections.
Infrastructure services include plot demarcation, road level inquiry, house connections to drainage networks.
