The competitions are off to a great start: Sheikh Khalid

The UCI Road World Championships Doha 2016 is well and truly underway. The first three days of competition threw up some stunning races and unpredictable results.
UCI Road World Championships Doha 2016 chairman Sheikh Khalid bin Ali al-Thani said he expected the competitions to toughen in the coming days.
“The competition is off to a great start. The first three days’ races proved to be strong and I am hoping it will get even more exciting in the coming days. Personally, I am looking forward to the men and women’s elite races as well as the Ride Of Champions event.”
“Last week, it was a lot cooler in Doha because of winds. But the wind suddenly stopped blowing and temperatures climbed. However, it is still well within UCI-approved standards. We are expecting weather conditions to improve soon,” he said.
The official wished the best of luck to competitors. “We are proud to be hosting the UCI Road World Championships Doha 2016. I hope riders will find our event to be a rewarding experience as well. I wish them a fruitful competition in Qatar,” he signed off.
