Conference imparts latest knowledge on internal medicine

Over 1,000 delegates attended in Doha the third Qatar Internal Medicine Conference 2016, organised by General Internal Medicine at Hamad General Hospital, part of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), recently.

The three-day conference provided a platform for clinicians, academicians and researchers from Qatar, Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries and the rest of the world to present their clinical contributions and research results in Internal Medicine and its sub specialties.
The event was accredited for up to 21 continuing professional development hours by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners and also endorsed by the American College of Physicians, Society of Hospital Medicine of US, and Mediterranean Association for Study of Liver. It was also supported by the Royal College of Physicians of UK.
Dr. Abdel-Naser Elzouki, chairman of the organising committee and chief of General Internal Medicine at HMC, said the conference provided delegates with an intensive scientific programme packed with the latest knowledge, covering a number of important internal medicine topics, featuring many experts and contributors in the different fields of internal medicine from across the world.
"Delegates could meet and exchange knowledge in an event that included plenary lectures, mini-symposia, ‘meet the expert’ sessions, case-based discussions, clinical debates and a number of workshops.”
Delegates were also encouraged to submit abstracts for the conference based on original research or quality improvement projects contributing to the understanding, development or evaluation of internal medicine and its sub specialties.
