Ferrari test drives for motoring enthusiasts

Ferrari Qatar and Mawater Centre have held an exclusive two-day event for the centre’s motoring enthusiasts.
As part of the event, attendees were provided a first-hand experience of the California T and 488 Spider models under the supervision of Ferrari’s Corso Pilota drivers.
Renowned for their driving skills, Corso Pilota drivers represent the world-famous team of Italian driving trainers from Maranello. During the Ferrari test drives, the experts demonstrated skilful sports driving techniques to participants, while exposing the full potential of the car, according to a press statement.
The Ferrari test drive session “served to ignite the motoring passion” of Mawater Centre’s members by highlighting the automotive excellence of the two models, the statement noted.
The California T is a “brilliant expression” of Ferrari’s sporty DNA, while its retractable hard top and 2+ configuration make it supremely versatile. Powered by the new turbocharged V8 engine, the model sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds flat and from 0 to 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds.
The 488 Spider is the most powerful ever mid-rear-engined V8 car to feature the patented retractable hard top. Its 3,902cc turbocharged V8 engine spurts out a maximum power output of 670 CV combined with maximum torque of 760 Nm at 6,750 rpm, sending the 488 Spider sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds flat.
Mohamed Ibrahim al-Emadi, executive secretary at Mawater Centre, said: “We are extremely thrilled to be given this one-of-a-kind opportunity to test drive Ferrari’s supercars. It’s a dream of every car lover to discover the sporty power of the brand.”
Charly Dagher, general manager of Ferrari Qatar, added: “We are delighted to join hands with Mawater Centre and further heighten their interest in cars. The test drives provided a wonderful platform to present the fine Italian automotive craftsmanship that the brand is famous for.”
Under the premium dealership of Alfardan Sports Motors, Ferrari Qatar continuously endeavours to support car enthusiasts by engaging them in exciting sports events and activities, the statement adds.
