Indian Business and Professional Network (IBPN), in association with a high-profile delegation from Vibrant Gujarat Summit, held a business networking event in Doha recently.
At the event, the government of the Indian state of Gujarat entered into a collaboration agreement with IBPN, the apex body of Indian businesspersons in Qatar working under the aegis of the Indian embassy.
The agreement was signed by K M Varghese, IBPN president, and Rajiv Kumar Gupta, representing the government of Gujarat. The event was presided over by R K Singh, deputy chief of mission at the Indian embassy, and Yasir Nainar, general secretary of IBPN, expressed the vote of thanks.
The event included a presentation on investment opportunities in sectors such as oil and gas, chemicals-agrochemicals, petrochemicals, infrastructure development, e-commerce and logistics,
pharmaceuticals among others.
Representatives of various companies from different sectors in Gujarat, headed by Gupta, principal secretary (labour and employment), were on a two-day visit to Doha as a part of their Gulf tour.
“We are here to woo Qatari, Indian and other investors and to invite them to attend the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from January 10-13,” said Gupta.
“It is the commitment of the Indian embassy to support IBPN in extending assistance to find investors for various projects in Gujarat and other states,” said Dinesh Udenia, first secretary at the embassy, in his closuring remarks.
“We are planning to take a businessmen and investor’s delegation of Qataris, NRI investors and other expatriate businessmen for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017,” added
