HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani took part in the funeral of the HH the Grandfather Emir Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad al-Thani at the Al Rayyan cemetery yesterday.
HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad al-Thani, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani, HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa al-Thani, HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani who is the personal representative of HH the Emir, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, along with their excellencies sons of HH the Father Emir and a number of Sheikhs, ministers, senior state officials, dignitaries, citizens and residents took part in the funeral, praying to Allah the Almighty to have mercy on the soul of the late HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad and make his residence paradise.
Earlier, HH the Emir and HH the Father Emir performed the funeral prayers for HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad at Imam Mohamed bin Abdulwahab Mosque in Doha.
HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad, HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad, HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa, HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser, HE the Speaker of the Advisory (Shura) Council, Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi, their excellencies sons of HH the Father Emir, took part in the prayer.
A number of Sheikhs, Ministers, senior state officials, dignitaries and citizens also attended the prayer.
Visiting Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar also took part in the prayer.
In the presence of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa met at Al Wajba Palace with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, who expressed his condolences on the death of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad.
HH the Emir and HH the Father Emir met with King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifah of Bahrain, who offered condolences on the death of HH the Grandfather Emir.
