Ooredoo to promote security services at Nov conference

Ooredoo will promote its next generation Security Operations Centre (SOC) services at the upcoming Information Security Conference for the financial sector set to take place in Doha on November 1.
ICT security has risen on the corporate agenda after a series of high profile attacks in 2016, including a recent distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack that slowed or knocked offline some of the world’s most high-profile websites this month.
To help companies keep their services accessible and secure, Ooredoo has invested in the widest portfolio of security services available in Qatar.
As a sponsor of the conference, the company will strive to raise awareness about the range of cyber security solutions now available for companies.
The conference, which is in its third year, promotes dialogue around information security in Qatar, ICT challenges facing financial institutions, and the solutions available to tackle these challenges.
The event, organised by Qatar Central Bank, is under the patronage of its Governor HE Sheikh Abdulla bin Saoud al-Thani.
“Cyber-attacks have become a major risk for financial institutions in the region and around the world. Ooredoo is investing in a range of solutions designed to provide the highest level of security and protection against a full range of threats,” Ooredoo Qatar COO Yousuf Abdulla al-Kubaisi said in a statement.
Ooredoo’s SOC is at the heart of the company’s ‘Managed Security Services’ approach, providing tailored security monitoring for enterprises and organisations across Qatar.
The service enables companies to investigate business security incidents, perform incident response and forensics, and helps keep organisations operating even in the event of a data breach.
