Alexander Radulov contributed three points to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers in Monday’s National Hockey League game at the Bell Centre. The Russian winger scored a goal and added two assists as the Canadiens won their fourth straight game.
Shea Weber had a goal and an assist, and Brendan Gallagher also scored for Montreal. Jakub Voracek accounted for the Flyers’ goal. Goalie Steve Mason stopped 30 shots for the Flyers (2-3-1).Carey Price made 31 saves for the Canadiens (5-0-1).
In another game, Kris Versteeg scored the tiebreaking goal to lift Calgary Flames to a shootout 3-2 win over Chicago Blackhawks. Versteeg’s goal in the seventh round of the shootout followed 13 consecutive misses by players from both teams.
Sam Bennett and Sean Monahan scored during regulation for Calgary. Patrick Kane and Brian Campbell tallied the Blackhawks’ goals in regulation. Chicago earned a point for the 13th consecutive meeting against the Flames.
Flames goaltender Brian Elliott turned aside 31 of 33 shots during regulation and did not allow a goal in seven shootout attempts. Elliott made a kick save against Richard Panik on a point-blank opportunity in the final seconds of the third period. Goaltender Corey Crawford stopped 29 of 31 shots for the Blackhawks.

NHL to inspect 2018 facilities, participation still in doubt
National Hockey League (NHL) officials are visiting South Korea this week to inspect facilities for the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics amid continuing uncertainty over the participation of the league’s top players at the Winter Games.
Pyeongchang organizers (POCOG) released an itinerary yesterday detailing the visit of the group, which includes Lynn White, the NHL’s Group Vice President of International Strategy, and Senior Director of Facilities Operations Dan Craig.
Sandra Monteiro and Matthieu Schneider of the NHL’s Players’ Association, as well as officials from the International Ice Hockey Federation, are also part of the group. The officials will inspect the Kwandong Hockey Centre and the Gangneung Hockey Centre today. A decision on player participation is expected before the end of this year.
Discussions over player participation hit a roadblock last month after nhl deputy commissioner Bill Daly said the chances of the league shutting down to allow players to compete at the Olympics in the middle of the season were “dim”.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) says it is no longer willing to cover insurance and travel costs for NHL players, which have been widely estimated at around $10 million.
