The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) will participate in the 56th general assembly and annual meetings of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), which will be held in Columbia from November 2 to 4.
QSE chief executive Rashid bin Ali al-Mansoori is representing Qatar at the event, hosted by Bolsa de Valores de Colombia, and will see more than 300 delegates, representing more than 200 global exchanges and central counterparty (CCP) institutions, with a public programme of 16 keynote speeches and panel sessions, in addition to member-only sessions for the working committee and board.
Mauricio Cárdenas, Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Colombia; Arunma Oteh, treasurer and vice-president of the World Bank; Kay Swinburne, Member of European Parliament; and Robert Cox, vice-president of Financial Markets at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will delivery keynote speeches on the first day, deliberating on Brexit, distributed ledger technology and exchange consolidation.
The second day’s agenda includes speeches from Daniel Coleman, chief executive, KCG, and Tajinder Singh, deputy secretary general, International Organisation of Securities Commissions, along with panel sessions on CCP resilience and recovery, fixed income, volatility, and exchange linkage models.
QSE has joined WFE in 2013 and has been an active member ever since and QSE has been represented in the board of directors from the start since al-Mansoori was elected a Board Director in 2014 representing Middle East and North Africa, Europe and the Middle East. QSE organised the very successful general assembly in Doha in 2015.
