SC ‘to gain from participation at Milipol Qatar exhibition’

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) hopes to gain considerably from their participation at the ongoing Milipol Qatar, said an officials at its pavilion at the three-day expo.
Speaking to Gulf Times yesterday, Thani al-Zoraa, project manager of the under-construction Wakrah stadium for the 2022 FIFA World Cup said the participation at an event of the magnitude of Milipol Qatar would help them understand the actual security needs and requirements for a major sport extravaganza.
“We get a remarkably good opportunity to interact with a number of top level security personnel from different parts of the world, including those from many countries which have played host to large sport events like Olympics and FIFA World Cup,” said al-Zoraa.
The official said the SC team members could learn considerably from both the personnel attending the expo and the equipment exhibited at Milipol.
“Not over, the participation at sessions held as part of the event too has come handy for our members, who are keenly looking forward to Qatar hosting the 2022 event in an impeccable manner” said al-Zoraa.
The SC has a nearly 300-member team at its office in the West Bay, which included a large number of consultants, engineers, IT personnel and other professionals.
At the SC pavilion at Milipol Qatar which was visited by a large number of visitors, including dignitaries yesterday, a miniature model of the World Cup Stadium being built at the Qatar Foundation is the main attraction.
Pictures of the other eight stadiums are also on display at the pavilion.
Al-Zorra said the exhibition has given their officials an opportunity to answer effectively the visitors’ queries on the stadiums under construction and those on the design stage.
SC Secretary General Hassan al-Thawadi too was among the dignitaries visiting Milipol Qatar yesterday.
