Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Al Fazaa Volunteers, a Qatar-based group committed to supporting various national events and causes.
As part of the agreement, both organisations will work together to raise sustainability and green building awareness and understanding by disseminating knowledge, facilitating relevant training programmes, and assisting with managing networking and community events.
Meshal al-Shamari, director, QGBC, said, “We are delighted to welcome on board Al Fazaa Volunteers whose invaluable assistance will further help to foster a culture of sustainability among the wider Qatari community. A number of volunteers from the group will undertake various functions during the upcoming Qatar Green Building Conference and Qatar Sustainability Week.”
“We’re extremely proud to have Qatari youth involved in this week-long initiative to advance the nation’s sustainability objectives, and we encourage more young people to play an active role in assisting Qatar to secure a greener future,” al-Shamari added.
QGBC’s second annual Qatar Green Building Conference 2016 and the Qatar Sustainability Week take place from November 13 to 19.
