The Ministry of Interior (MoI) is showcasing many of its state-of-the-art systems, applications and devices at Milipol Qatar. which concludes at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre today.
On display at the MoI pavilion are some of the equipment used by its departments such as General Directorate of Information Systems, General Directorate of Civil Defence, Criminal Evidence and Investigation Department, Telecommunications, National Command Centre, General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security, Security Press and General Directorate of Industrial Security.
Telecommunications department has showcased many innovative tools including 4G LTE smartphones which can help transfer data with high speed and accuracy, latest systems in the police patrol and military vehicles for locating places and the systems handled by operations teams to monitor the cameras installed in the patrol vehicles.
The pavilion also introduces early alarm warning systems installed in buildings connected with National Command Centre. The system can directly give information to the operations room in the event of any fire or theft.
The pavilion of Civil Defence exhibits automatic rescuers for rescue operations in tunnels and airbags used in building collapses and similar incidents.
The Director of Criminal Evidence and Investigation Department (CEID) Brigadier Nasser Abdullah al-Mahmoud said the CEID is showcasing a number of devices for detecting crimes and verifying the identity of the criminals.
“We are exhibiting the latest technological devices including the fingerprint machine to detect the identity of the unknown persons, wherever it is required, especially traffic accident victims. They will soon be made available for the patrols and security departments,” said Brigadier al-Mahmoud.
This device will be similar to or smaller than a smartphone and within seconds the security agency can verify whether a person is among the wanted list or not. This device can also verify the identity of suspects without taking them to the security departments, which will contribute to saving the time and efforts of the security personnel, he added.
Qatar Rail’s technical relations executive director and senior engineer Hasan Ahmed al-Marwani said their company aimed to introducing the rail project in general to the visitors and its achievements so far.
