Al Khor Service Centre opens

Al Khor Service Centre was inaugurated yesterday by Major General Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi, the director general of Public Security Staff.
The new complex includes service centre of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and other governmental services complex as well.
The opening programme was attended by Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Consular Affairs Department director Mohamed Abdullah Saeed al-Subaei, General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriates Affairs (GDNBEA) director general Brigadier Mohamed Ahmad al-Ateeq, and Government Services Complex Department director Mohamed Muslim al-Rashdi.
In his opening remarks, the director general of Public Security stated that the strategy of the MoI to establish service centres across the country is nearing completion, with 19 opened so far and four more scheduled for opening in the near future.
Hukoomi services will soon be available in Ras Laffan, the Pearl-Qatar and Ruwais also. He underscored that almost 80% of the geographical areas of the state has been covered with MoI service centres.
Staff Maj Gen Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi added that the new service centre is equipped with the latest devices used in the services of passports, fingerprint and criminal information and evidences that would help to complete the procedures within shorter time. These devices will be soon installed in other service centres too.
Brigadier al-Atieq said the new centre is all set to provide all services available in the headquarters of GDNBEA along with other governmental services. The citizens and residents of Al Khor can get services of different ministries under one roof now.
He pointed out that all staffs in the new centre are capable to provide any services required by the customers without moving to other counters. These include services related to visa, residence, exit permit, company registration renewal and service of the recruitment committee that facilitates remote interviewing of the applicants.
Al-Rashidi said the new centre, ninth of its kind, offers services of seven ministries including Foreign Ministry, Justice, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Administrative Development and Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Kahramaa.
Real Estate Registration, Commercial Licenses, work contracts, bill payments and all other services are available in Al Khor Service Centre.
Al-Subaei said that the Consular Affairs Department is very keen to complete the documents attestation and authorisation services for the citizens and residents within just three minutes.
He added that the clients can approach the department if they face any problems in completion of their required services easily.
Building Affairs Department director Brigadier engineer Mohamed Thani al-Mudahaka said that the new Al Khor Service Centre includes 13 counters for other government services and 16 for MoI services. The centre also includes a separate building for Nationality and Travel Documents Department facilitated for the services of the citizens with special areas for men and women. All buildings are equipped with latest safety tools and have spacious car parking space and waiting halls.
Al Khor Service Centre director Lt Colonel Nasser Abdul Karim al-Humaidi said that the new office will work in two shifts from 6am to 1pm and 3pm to 6pm. The afternoon shift will be changed from 1pm to 8pm in the near future, he added.
