Ticket sales for the AFC Cup 2016 final between Air Force Club of Iraq and India’s JSW Bengaluru FC will begin at 4pm today at the Suheim bin Hamad Stadium (Qatar Sports Club).
The ticket booths will open at Gate 4 (only for Air Force Club fans) and Gate 5 (only for JSW Bengaluru FC fans) from 4pm to 9pm.
On November 5, the matchday, the counters will be open from 4pm to 7pm
The tickets are priced at QR30 for fans while the VIP tickets can be purchased at QR50. Each person is entitled to purchase only a maximum of five tickets and both booths will sell gallery, family and VIP tickets.
Meanwhile, the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) has asked the Indian community to turn out in large numbers at the stadium to cheer the Bengaluru team.
In a note to community leaders, heads of ICC-affiliated organisations and principals of Indian schools in Qatar, the ICC said it was issuing the appeal on behalf of the Bengaluru captain Suni Chhetri.
Bengaluru Football Club is the first ever Indian club to earn the distinction of appearing in the title match of an Asian competition.
The match will be played tomorrow at 7pm at the Suheim bin Hamad Stadium.
Meanwhile, a delayed flight did not deter the spirits of Indians here as they turned out in numbers to welcome Bengaluru FC at the Hamad International Airport early yesterday morning.
Members of the Qatar Indian Association turned up to meet and greet captain Sunil Chhetri and his teammates in the early hours as the flight got late by more than four hours.
“We got to know that their scheduled flight was cancelled but there was no question of going back from the airport without welcoming our heroes,” Safeer, General Secretary, Qatar Indian Association for Sports and Games (QIA), told www.the-aiff.com
Coach Albert Roca seemed overwhelmed by the enthusiasm among the Indians living in the country.
“It was a long and tiring journey but to be greeted by the members of the Indian community despite the late arrival was very heartening to see. I hope they turn out in big numbers on matchday and motivate the boys even more.”
