‘Discover Education City’ fair from Nov 9

Universities from across the Education City will showcase their academic offerings at Discover Education City 2016 on November 9-10 from 9am to 9pm at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Student Centre.
Following the success of last year’s event, the scope of this year’s fair will again include graduate programmes at the master’s and PhD level as well as undergraduate and foundation programmes, offered by HBKU, Qatar Foundation’s homegrown Qatari university and the eight international campuses located in Education City.
The event will cater to high school students, recent college graduates and working professionals.
Organised by level of study, attendees will have a unique opportunity to gain insight into the academic offerings of nine universities in total: Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Georgetown University in Qatar, Northwestern University in Qatar, HEC
Paris in Qatar and UCL Qatar.
Admissions staff from all the participating academic institutions will be available throughout the event to help visitors gain a thorough understanding of each programme’s admission processes.
Though the institutions share a common campus, each university has its own unique culture and traditions, with the event providing visitors with an opportunity to experience the rich diversity that exists within the fabric of Education City.
Additionally, students finishing high school will be able to learn about QF’s Academic Bridge Programme, specially designed to assist students’ transitioning from high school to education at the university level.
Maryam al-Mannai, vice president of Student Affairs at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, remarked: “As we prepare to open our admissions cycle for the next academic year, we look forward to meeting prospective students at Discover Education City. Through a unique range of research-focused undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, HBKU provides university students at each level with an exceptional educational experience.”
