Four eateries closed for violating rules
Four restaurants in the Mamoura and Najma areas of Doha have been closed for 10 days each for violating regulations that pertain to preparing food in healthy conditions. The orders were issued by Doha Municipality director Jamal Matar al-Nuaimi. Doha Municipality’s Health Control Section issued a violation report and initiated legal procedures against a catering firm in Bin Mahmoud. The outlet was found manipulating the expiry dates of some products – through extending the validity by four months – and following unhygienic practices in freezing fresh meat and fish items. A restaurant in the Nuaija area was issued a violation report after an insect was found inside a meal ready to be served to customers.
