LG Electronics (LG), in commemoration of its 30 years of successful operations in partnership with Video Home & Electronic Centre, gathered with its partner, supporters and the media for a gala celebration in Doha on Monday night.
The evening started with a formal press meet where the leadership from LG and Video Home & Electronic Centre shared their vision for LG in Qatar.
Following the press gathering, all parties met for a formal gala dinner to further strengthen bonds, herald past successes, and expand on their vision for LG within the nation.
From Video Home & Electronic Centre, the main participants in the programme were Sheikh Ahmed bin Saif al-Thani, chairman; Sajed Jassim Mohamed Sulaiman, vice-chairman and managing director; Ahmed Abdulla al-Khal, director; and C V Rappai, director and CEO; while representatives from LG included Kevin Cha, president of LG Electronics Middle East & Africa and Y G Choi, president of LG Electronics Gulf. As the evening’s guest of honour, Cha said: “Our gathering is not a mere thank you to everyone involved in the successful operations of LG in Qatar. It is an opportunity for us to remember the years of striving and effort that have gone into ensuring that the LG brand is as strong as it is today.
“Our partnership with Video Home & Electronic Centre began with a vision, and our partnership is as strong as ever today, evolving with a new vision that ensures that LG premium products are ever-more accessible and enjoyed by the passionate and well-informed Qatari consumer for many years to come.”
Successful examples of the partnership between the two parties were highlighted during speeches at the gathering. From recollecting successful sponsorships and awards, to discussing the evolution of LG air-conditioning systems in Qatar introduced as GoldStar almost 25 years ago, the evening’s celebratory gathering showcased the partnership as nothing but a feat of success, according to the press statement.
“I recall the early years of LG Electronics in Qatar and how it has evolved to such a solid brand willing and capable to win the trust and loyalty of consumers in Qatar and surely worldwide. We are proud to have been LG’s faithful partner for three decades, and we are certain that the many years ahead will be as successful if not more so. We will continue to nurture this relationship while focusing on what matters most to our local consumers as we cater to their unique needs and lifestyles,” said Sulaiman.
During the gala, LG announced expansion plans for Qatar, which include the opening of the first LG brand shop at Mall of Qatar in December. LG also discussed its plans to bring to the market, with Video Home & Electronic Centre, its premium Signature lineup in Q1 of 2017.
The LG Signature collection will include 4K OLED TVs in home entertainment and TwinWash washing machines in home appliances.
