HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem met the US Army Central Commander Michael Garrett in Doha yesterday.

Islamic forum
Qatar won an award from Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) in the field of science and technology.
Vice-president for Research & Graduate Studies professor Mariam Ali S A al-Maadeed received the award for research related to the electric, mechanical, thermal and physical properties of polymers and its applications.
Secretary-General of Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science Dr Hamda Hassan al-Sulaiti said that the award was the first of its kind for the State of Qatar from ISESCO.
