Three get suspended sentence for theft
A Doha criminal court has sentenced three Asian men to a suspended sentence of one year in jail each for stealing copper cables. Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the sentence is to be suspended for three years from the date of verdict.
The trio were convicted by the court for colluding to steal copper cables from the company they used to work for. They had gathered about 70kg of cut copper cables by putting them aside as waste in a bag. However, the security guard discovered their plot and reported the issue to the police.
