300kg of rotten fruits destroyed at wholesale market

Food inspectors have destroyed 300kg of rotten fruits at the wholesale market and warned the importers of strict action, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has said in a Tweet.
Meanwhile, Doha Municipality’s health control section has issued two violation reports to a restaurant in Fereej Abdulaziz for transporting fresh fish in a vehicle without proper equipment or ice and causing the consignment to rot.
A grocery in the Industrial Area was also issued a violation report for storing frozen chicken without proper expiry or production dates. It was also kept in a carton belonging to another product.
A cafeteria in the Industrial Area was also issued a violation report for flouting Law No.3 for 1975 on commercial, industrial and similar entities that conduct business with the public.
A worker at the cafeteria was found preparing food without wearing gloves and head cover.
Meanwhile, Al Wakrah Municipality has planted 160,000 seedlings of flowers in the area under its jurisdiction.
Maintenance work at the Al Wakrah fishing port has started and will continue for around three months in order to develop the facilities.
The Public Gardens Department at the MME, in co-operation with Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality, has organised a visit of 56 children from a Qur’an memorisation centre to Al Khor Park, where they were briefed about plants and trees. A similar visit was also organised for students of Cambridge International School.
