Health Ministry holds awareness lecture
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) recently held a lecture for its senior officials and staff as part of  efforts undertaken to spread awareness about the National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed).
The awareness lecture was held in co-operation with Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa)’s conservation and energy efficiency department.
The initiative was aimed at encouraging the attendants to adopt proper rationalisation and conservation practices that would further help in  making the campaign a success, and accordingly reduce the annual percentage of water and electricity consumption.
The lecture was in line with the MoPH and Kahramaa’s keenness to spread awareness about Tarsheed among different segments and sectors of the society as possible.
The prime target of Tarsheed is to reduce the capita water and electricity consumption by 35% and 20%, respectively, by 2017.

Recalled washing machine models not locally sold
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has affirmed that a recall campaign involving some models of Samsung washing machines over a manufacturer’s defect is limited to the US.
Such types and models of washing machines have not been imported/sold in Qatar by Samsung Electronics, the ministry has stressed.
The recall initiative in the US included 34 models of top-loading machines, based on reports that the appliance might lose balance, causing them to shake so badly that the top of the washing machine could  detach.
