‘Al Wakra is Green’ contest participants honoured. Participants of the ‘Al Wakra is Green’ contest, organised by Al Wakrah Municipality and sponsored by SAK Group, have been honoured to encourage and motivate students in Al Wakrah to design environment friendly-
facilities.
One of the activities held to mark Sustainability Week, the event was conducted at the theatre of Al Wakrah Municipality and also attended by members of private corporations. The winning design will be implemented by the municipality at Al Wakrah Park.
Ahmed al-Sayed, general manager of SAK Trading and Contracting Company, a SAK Holding Group subsidiary, stressed that SAK Group was keen to be actively involved in all activities and events that served the society. He said, “We highly revere the great efforts undertaken by Al Wakrah Municipality towards providing a
sustainable environment.
“We are also happy to be a part of this event and be the official sponsors of the activities of the Sustainability Week, as well as the ‘Al Wakra is Green’ contest organised by Al Wakrah Municipality, which has made great contributions towards sustainability efforts at different levels in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.”
Further, al-Sayed thanked the municipality for allowing SAK Holding Group to fulfil some of its responsibilities towards the society by sponsoring the Sustainability Week. “We are proud of our collaboration with Al Wakrah Municipality in the field of community service,” he added, noting that the Group took part in a successful campaign organised by the municipality to clean the family beach in Al Wakrah.
Members of the community also took part in the event, including French ambassador Eric Chevallier and a number of French
expatriates living in Qatar.
